Nature of the service

Italian Wine Data is an informational tool that organises and makes data on Italian wine appellations accessible, including through comparisons, calculators and other automated processing.

Official sources prevail

Data on the site is derived or processed from official sources, but may contain extraction, interpretation, transcription, updating or rule-to-wine-type mapping errors. It may also fail to reflect a regulatory amendment made after the latest review.

For any regulatory, administrative, professional, production or commercial use, the current official product specification and documentation published by the competent authorities always prevail.

Calculations and processing

Results generated by the calculators are automated outputs based on the structured data available on the site and on the assumptions shown in the interface. They do not constitute certification, professional advice or an official interpretation of the rules.

Document archive

Where available, Italian Wine Data provides an archive copy of documents originating from official sources. The presence of a copy in the project does not guarantee that the document is the latest version at the time of consultation. Users should check for updates with MASAF, the European Union or another competent authority.

To the extent permitted by law, Italian Wine Data accepts no liability for decisions, activities or consequences arising from use of site data or results without verification against the current official source.
